Eye bolts generally have a rounded loop on one end that forms an eye and with a threaded shaft. There are several types of eye bolts including drop forged machinery eye bolts which are forged instead of formed offering higher load ratings, turned eye bolts which are zinc plated and manufactured from low carbon cold drawn steel wire, drop forged machinery shoulder eye bolts that have a shoulder under the eye that are usually applied flush with the mounting surface, and screw thread eye bolts sometimes galvanized with cone points and lag screw thread.
