Machine screws are a screw with a head with a fully threaded body or shank that commonly is used with a nut but also used by screwing the threaded body or shank into a previously drilled hole that is tapped with the same interior threads as the machine screw therefore not needing a nut. There are many types of machine screws with different heads and drives including but not limited to flat head, hex washer head, oval head, pan head, round head, and truss head with either slotted or Phillips drive in zinc plated ZP steel and stainless steel SS.
